چکیده
Background: Various factors affect the response of large hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), and high demand for TACE procedures highlights need information methods on criteria patient selection. Methods: Thirty-six HCC patients who were treated with conventional between January 2014 2020 had pre- postoperative imaging data included in analysis. The categorized as tumor responders (complete or partial response) nonresponders (stable progressive disease) according to modified evaluation solid tumors (mRECIST). Eight predictive (Tumor diameter, Tumor amount, vascularity, portal vein invasion, location, presence capsule, Child–Pugh class, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) level) evaluated using multivariate analysis logistic regression. Results: Only 42% fell into category TACE. None class B showed a response. A group that lesion diameter 5–10 cm (OR: 8.78, 95% CI: 1.73–44.55; P = 0.009) are an independent predictor first procedure. Conclusions: could be use patients, further researches needed confirm this finding.

Predictive Factors for Complete Response and Recurrence after Transarterial Chemoembolization in Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Background/Aims To investigate the predictive factors for complete response (CR) and recurrence after CR in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with transarterial chemoembolization (TACE). Methods Among 691 newly diagnosed HCC patients, 287 were treated with TACE as a first therapy. We analyzed the predictive factors for CR, recurrence after CR, and overall survival (OS). R...
متن کاملPredictive factors of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography for the response to transarterial chemoembolization in hepatocellular carcinoma
BACKGROUND/AIMS The predictive role of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) before performing transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) has not been determined. We assessed the possible predictive factors of CEUS for the response to TACE. METHODS Seventeen patients with 18 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) underwent TACE. All of the tumors were studied with CEUS before TACE using a second-gener...
متن کاملResponse to transarterial chemoembolization may serve as selection criteria for hepatocellular carcinoma liver transplantation
Aims This study sought to extend the inclusion criteria for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) liver transplantation (LT), particularly addressing the safety and effectiveness of pre-LT transarterial chemoembolization (TACE). Materials and Methods Our study included 115 patients with HCC who underwent LT after TACE. The response measured after each TACE session was based on the mRECIST criteria: ...
متن کاملOptimal lesion number for evaluation of tumor response in response evaluation criteria in solid tumors.
TO THE EDITOR: We read with interest the article by Hillman et al on the use of limited tumor selection for reporting imaging-based response assessment in clinical oncology trials. We applaud the authors for their attention to this very important question of how best to use imaging information to determine patient responses to anticancer therapies. We agree with the authors’ suggestion that one...
